About

“Altered books provide a sanctuary to tell the stories of our lives. They offer a glimpse into our own interiors and a moment of self reflection. The symmetry of viewing an altered book and the transformation of reading a great book is something I find deeply satisfying.”

Jennifer Kring is a contemporary, Chattanooga based artist known for delicate renderings of the natural world displayed in the shells of discarded books. Her work has been exhibited and collected nation wide in galleries and festivals.
